The Eufy C30 Edge offers a more affordable alternative, with a docking station that stands just 12.3 inches tall. Available for $629.99 on Eufy’s website (with the on-site coupon), it promises a convenient, space-saving cleaning solution. In our testing, we’ll examine how thoroughly it cleans hard floors and how reliably it detects obstacles. We’ll also check which tasks still need to be handled manually despite its all-in-one dock. Eufy Omni C30 Edge: Design and build quality The Eufy Omni C30 Edge makes a solid impression. The box keeps the robot and docking station securely protected in separate compartments. All the parts were firmly in place, the exterior surfaces are neatly finished, and the flaps closed flush. Setup is straightforward. All you need to do is assemble the docking station, insert the tanks, and connect the power cable. This can be done without having to go through the instructions. Christoph Hoffmann The robot measures approximately 14.1 x 13 inches and, including the laser tower, stands about 4.5 inches tall. Before buying, check the clearance under your furniture to make sure the robot can fit underneath. It navigated under our corner bench and table without any problems, but furniture with very little clearance remains out of reach due to the fixed laser turret. Its 10.8-pound weight is only noticeable when carrying it to another floor. Christoph Hoffmann The docking station is 19.7 inches deep, 13 inches wide, and just 12.4 inches high. It takes up significantly less vertical space than many all-in-one docks. The water tanks can be removed from the top, so you’ll need sufficient learance above the station. Removing and replacing the tanks also requires bending down quite low. Christoph Hoffmann The box includes everything needed for the initial setup, but the overall contents are somewhat sparse. Replacement mop pads, filters, a side brush, and cleaning solution are not included. The instructions also mention a reusable dust bag with a zipper, but this was missing from our box. As a result, it’s difficult to estimate the long-term maintenance costs. Eufy Omni C30 Edge: Specifications Eufy specifies a maximum suction power of 35,000 pascals (Pa). However, this laboratory figure is only comparable to a limited extent across different manufacturers. In practice, what matters is the actual cleaning result. A multi-cyclone system sits in front of the filter and is designed to separate fine dust and maintain stable suction power for longer. Whether the advertised 365 days without any loss of performance can be achieved can only be assessed through long-term testing. On the underside, you’ll find a floating spiral brush, a fixed side brush, and two rotating cleaning pads. The main brush is mounted on one side, allowing hair to slide more easily into the suction channel rather than get tangled around the roller. The side brush cannot be extended or raised. Christoph Hoffmann For mopping, Eufy relies on its MopMaster 3.0 system. The pentagonal pads rotate at 180 revolutions per minute and, according to the manufacturer, apply 2.2 pounds of pressure to the floor. The right-hand pad can extend outwards by up to 3 inches. A laser line measures the distance to the skirting board and controls the extension. On carpets, the robot lifts both pads by up to 0.5 inches. Christoph Hoffmann Eufy Omni C30 Edge: Set-up The basic cleaning cycle can be started using the buttons on the device. The C30 Edge explored the rooms autonomously, first following the edges if the room and then cleaning the floor in straight lines. This means it’s possible to vacuum and mop even without a smartphone. However, the app is required for room selection, no-go zones, schedules, and detailed cleaning profiles. As a result, there is no such thing as unrestricted offline use. The Eufy app requires a user account. Our test unit was already registered, so we had to reset it first. To do this, we held down the two front buttons for three seconds. The app immediately detected the robot via Bluetooth and guided us through the process of connecting it to a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network. A firmware update and new map data extended the initial setup process, but both completed without any errors. Christoph Hoffmann The interface is clear and straightforward. In the map view, rooms can be named and edited, while no-go zones and specific cleaning areas can be set up quickly. Suction power and water flow can also be adjusted. The app displays the cleaning route and the current status. After the first run, the detected carpets were accurately placed on the map. Christoph Hoffmann Matter support makes it easier to integrate the robot into a compatible smart home. Voice commands are also possible through Alexa, Google Assistant, and Siri shortcuts. However, the robot does not have a local voice assistant. Basic functions can still be accessed directly on the device, but most convenient controls are handled through the app. Eufy Omni C30 Edge: Navigation and obstacle detection Navigation is based on 360-degree LiDAR in the tower, along with additional line lasers. The C30 Edge does not have a camera. Mapping proved reliable in our tests. The robot divided the floor plan into rooms in a logical manner and covered areas with minimal movement. It also recognized doormats and carpets and marked them on the map. Christoph Hoffmann The robot navigated around larger objects, such as packaging and children’s toys, with ease. However, it had more difficulty detecting flat objects. It pushed a thick colored pencil and two wooden boards ahead of it and dragged a thin drawing template along for a short distance. Christoph Hoffmann The C30 Edge did not get stuck in the process. Nevertheless, its behavior highlights a clear limitation of the sensor technology. Cables and other flat objects should be removed from the floor before it starts. In households with loads of toys, the floor must be carefully cleared before every run. Eufy Omni C30 Edge: Cleaning performance On tile floors, the C30 Edge reliably picked up everyday dirt and debris. On carpets, the robot automatically increases its suction power. However, the cleaning effectiveness cannot be deduced from the rated power alone. Our doormats stayed dry because the robot lifted its mop pads in time. Christoph Hoffmann The two rotating pads left an even cleaning path on the floor. The extendable right-hand pad helps reduce the uncleaned strip typically left along walls. Unlike a mop roller, however, the pads do not continuously collect dirty water. Eufy designed the system for regular maintenance cleaning and light stains. According to the manufacturer, stubborn residues may need to be pre-treated in some cases. Christoph Hoffmann The robot automatically returned to its docking station between cleaning. There, the mop pads were rinsed, the water tanks were refilled, and the collected dirt was transferred to the dust bag. The C30 Edge then resumed cleaning from the correct spot. All accessible rooms were cleaned thoroughly. Eufy Omni C30 Edge: Docking station and maintenance The docking station handles a large part of the routine work. It empties the dust bin, washes the mops, dries them with warm air, and refills the robot’s internal water tank. The fresh water tank holds 0.8 gallons, while the dirty water tank holds 0.66 gallons. The dust bag also has a capacity of 0.66 gallons and, according to the manufacturer, should last up to 60 days. The actual duration depends heavily on the floor area, the amount of dirt, and how frequently the robot is used. Christoph Hoffmann The system is not entirely maintenance-free. Dirty water must be disposed of promptly, and the wash tray, filter, brushes, and sensors should be checked and cleaned regularly. The base tray can be removed for this purpose. There is no automatic cleaning-solution dispenser, so Eufy recommends manually mixing its cleaning solution at a ratio of 1:66. Christoph Hoffmann Eufy Omni C30 Edge: Conclusion The Eufy C30 Edge is good for homes that are generally tidy. It follows a systematic cleaning pattern and cleans hard floors thoroughly. The extendable mop pads helps clean closer to skirting boards. The low-profile, largely automated docking station and user-friendly app are also impressive. The robot struggles with low obstacles. Cables and small items should be removed before each run. It also lacks a camera for more precise object detection and an automatic cleaning solution dispenser. The limited range of included accessories can lead to additional costs early on. Before buying, it’s worth checking the prices of dust bags and mops, as well as filters and brushes. Given the relatively short testing period, it’s not yet possible to reliably assess their durability or the long-term reliability of the docking station. Anyone looking for a low-profile docking station and able to live with these limitations will get a good overall package for $629.99.
