Summary
Palm Springs is Old Hollywood's favourite desert hideaway, and it's stranger than you'd think. Drive past Elvis's honeymoon house and Sinatra's piano-shaped pool, climb inside a 65-foot T. Rex by the freeway and wander a cactus garden planted in 1938. Then head into Joshua Tree, where the trees aren't really trees, cattle rustlers once hid their herds in a walled-in valley and rain carved a giant skull into a boulder.
